Quran.com Account Sync: Your Bookmarks and Notes in Both Places

By Yahya , GABLVM Staff, 9 May 2026

Your bookmarks belong to you, not to a single app. As of April 27, 2026, you can connect your Quran.com account to GABLVM and have the two stay in sync. Bookmark a verse on your phone during morning recitation, and the same bookmark is waiting for you on the GABLVM My Quran Account page that afternoon. Take a note on a verse here, and it appears in the Quran.com app the next time you open it. The same goes for reading streaks and daily reading goals.

What you can do today

  • Bookmarks. Bookmark a verse on the GABLVM Quran Player and it is saved to your Quran.com account at the same time. Bookmarks made in the Quran.com app appear here automatically.
  • Verse notes. Notes you write on either side sync to the other. Notes are private to your account and never shared with anyone else.
  • Today's reading panel. If you have set a daily reading goal in the Quran.com mobile app, your progress shows on the GABLVM My Quran Account page in real time. The page summarizes how far you have read today across every device you use.

What is local for now

Audio playback position stays on each device for the moment. Reading goals are read-only on our side, meaning you set them in the Quran.com app and we display them here. We will revisit both as the integration matures.

How to connect

  1. Open My Quran Account.
  2. Press the Connect Quran.com Account button.
  3. Quran.com asks if you want to give GABLVM permission to read and write your bookmarks, notes, and reading goal. Confirm.
  4. You return to GABLVM with the connection active. Your Quran.com bookmarks and notes appear immediately.

You can disconnect at any time from the same page. Anything saved on either side stays where it is. Disconnecting only stops the sync.

What we ask for, and what we do not

The integration uses OAuth 2.0 against Quran.com's official developer platform. We never see your password. We request only the permissions needed for bookmarks, notes, and reading goals. We do not see your Quran.com profile beyond the email and identifier required to maintain the link. You can revoke our access from your Quran.com account settings at any time, independent of GABLVM.

Built screen-reader-first

The connection flow, the dashboard, and the today's reading panel are all WCAG 2.2 AA compliant. The progress bar announces as a percentage. The Connect and Disconnect buttons announce their state changes. The notes list is fully reachable by keyboard. Nothing on this page requires a mouse.

What is next

We have a deeper integration in the next release that lets you sign in to GABLVM directly with your Quran.com identity, the same way you sign in with Google to other services. No separate password to remember.

Tell us how it works for you

This is a new integration and we are watching it closely. If something does not behave the way you expect, write to [email protected].
